Monthly Instrument Rental Pricing

While more convenient from a budget point of view, the monthly instrument rental or "rent to own" option is absolutely THE MOST EXPENSIVE WAY TO ACQUIRE A BAND INSTRUMENT FROM ANY DEALER! Parents must do the math. All monthly or "rent to own" plans base their purchase option on THE FULL RETAIL price of the instrument with new instruments and an inflated price on used instruments. This can add as much as $200.00 to $500.00 to the end purchase cost of a band instrument. PARENTS... DO YOUR MATH!

All the instruments rented by Desert Winds are also available by the month. Because of the cost of some instruments such as oboes, bassoons, French horns etc. those instruments are ONLY AVAILABLE via monthly payments. Pricing also varies with the cosmetic condition of the instrument. While all of our instruments are name brand, ultrasonically cleaned, have no dents and are structurally and acoustically sound, the lacquer or cosmetic finish deteriorates with time. This deterioration does not affect the performance of an instrument but can mean a LARGE SAVINGS to the consumer.
